Introducing Michael Baker

Michael Baker, noted artist and designer, brings his exclusive talents and extensive experience to the IMAX family as Director of Design. Michael holds a Bachelor's Degree in commercial design and a Master's Degree in fine arts and has exhibited nationally.

For the last 16 years Michael has used his creative energies within the home décor industry in both the retail and wholesale arenas. His forte is product design and development and he has vast experience in visual merchandising, floral design, and interior design. He has worked for national clients such as Natural Life, Artista, Simon and Co., Platypus, P.O.D., Blanc d'Ivoire, The Portico Collection, Just Gotta Have It, Paul Michael, and SAS Living. Many well-known retailers have carried his products, including Neiman Marcus, Horchow, Ballards, Winterthur, Robb & Stucky, Coldwater Creek, and Z Gallerie.

Michael's design philosophy is eclectic, easy, and simple. It's about layering - styles, periods, textures, and regions of the world - to create a visually delightful and meaningful environment. He believes style, integrity, and great design can make living easier. At IMAX he plans to continue to share this philosophy.
