Welcome to the first issue of IMAX Retailer Focus.

We at IMAX Worldwide Imports are excited about this project and hope you will find the information valuable each month.

Our mission is simple: We understand retail and we want to help you operate your business better. In a challenging economic environment (and can anyone doubt this is a challenging year), we know we all are on the same team.

Successful retailing is hard work, no doubt about it. But here at IMAX, we know about hard work. Indeed, it was the hard work and determination of Al and Faye Bulak, beginning in 1984, that built IMAX into the successful company it is today.

From the early days of importing copper flower containers, IMAX has grown into one of the top U.S. import companies serving the At Home market. Today with more than 38,000 customers, 128 road reps and product showing in 20 showrooms worldwide, IMAX continues to provide home and garden accessories imported from 12 countries. We have a 500,000-square-foot distribution center and four state-of-the-art fulfillment facilities at our Tulsa, Oklahoma headquarters.

In my job as vice president-sales, I talk with retailers every day and hear first-hand of their challenges and their successes. In my 30-year career, I’ve talked with thousands of retailers, studied their operations and learned from their experiences. That’s what I hope to share with you.

We’re excited to have Becky Boswell Smith, retired editor-in-chief of Home Accents Today, help in the creation of this newsletter for IMAX. Her experience and knowledge of our industry will be key to the quality of the information we offer to help your business be more successful.

Over the next months, we will discuss important bottom-line issues, day-to-day operational problems that impact your business in this column. While some people may think such issues are dull or even not think about them at all, we believe they are crucial to your success. Strengthening the bottom line is the core to any business success.

All of this represents another of our efforts to serve you better and more efficiently.

Our ever-improving product designs will also be a part of this newsletter. The success of our recent introductions of IMAX Signature Collection, IMAX Brushstrokes and our Seasons and Celebrations Collection tell us we are meeting your needs. Not only are we paying attention to new and exciting products, but we also are vigilant in shipping your orders in the timely manner you need.
